Project Steering Committee (PSC)
The Project Steering Committee (PSC) is a group responsible for overseeing the Africa-BB-Maps project, ensuring that it meets its goals. Made up of representatives from the ITU and the European Commission (EC), the PSC provides strategic guidance and helps navigate any challenges that may arise.
The PSC reviews annual progress reports and financial statements. If changes are needed due to unforeseen circumstances, the PSC discusses and approves these adjustments to keep the project aligned with its objectives. The committee meets at least once a year to review progress. All decisions are made through consensus, ensuring that every voice is considered.
This group keeps the project adaptable and responsive to the needs of the participating countries.
General Advisory Committee (GAC)
The General Advisory Committee (GAC) offers expert advice and strategic insights to help guide the Africa-BB-Maps project. This committee brings together a range of perspectives from key stakeholders across Africa and Europe, including representatives from the European Commission, African telecommunications bodies, and regulatory organizations.
The GAC meets at least once a year to provide input on the project’s direction and to discuss best practices for broadband mapping and regulation. These meetings are an opportunity to align the project’s efforts with international standards. The GAC also engages with stakeholders across the region, ensuring that the project benefits from the latest developments in the field.
The committee’s meetings are designed to be inclusive, welcoming observers who can contribute additional insights to maximize the project’s impact.
